The challenge

Tropical Taurus is Cultivate's bull and genetics brand, born without a name into agriculture's most sceptical market. Seedstock buyers back operators with decades behind them, and switching producers is a real risk in drought years. The marketplace is critical for good reason. A new brand had to earn credibility without a line of marketing fluff, while still carrying an innovative story: hybrid vigour bred for harsh terrain, a genomics program, regenerative agriculture.

The solution

We developed the name with the client, then built a deliberately boutique brand around it: modern where the market is traditional, restrained where the market is busy, and made to speak to cattle farmers in the right tone. A blue palette set against the red earth of on-farm photography, and an image and video library we shot ourselves across a series of on-farm days. We also attended and helped at mustering and tagging days, because you understand a market better with dust on your boots.

The website does two jobs and no more: it shows the animals and the country through that photography, and it turns interest into enquiry.

The result

A credible brand northern producers can trust, and the foundation for the content marketing program that followed. And the mark now travels on the cattle themselves, printed on the tags, which might be the smallest and most honest place a brand can live.
